Daschle advisers at the White House: One moves out, one moves up

Anita Dunn is out at the White House. She spent a decade helping advise Tom Daschle while he was in the U.S. Senate. Replacing her in the communication director’s post on President Obama’s top team is Dan Pfeiffer, who was her deputy and was the Obama campaign’s communications director. Pfeiffer was the chief spokesman for U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson in the 2002 re-election campaign, where Johnson barely turned back Republican challenger John Thune. Pfeiffer then was hired for Daschle’s 2004 re-election campaign; Thune won that one. Pfeiffer turns 34 on Christmas Eve. His rise has certainly been rapid.
