Freshman Rep. George Mark Mickelson, R-Sioux Falls, worked late Wednesday afternoon reading the governor's budget recommendations at his desk in the state House. Mickelson, 46, who goes by Mark, is the oldest son of the late Gov. George S. Mickelson, who was killed along with seven other men in the 1993 state-airplane crash. George Speaker Mickelson was so named by the Legislature during the 1941 session, according to statehouse legend. George S. was speaker of the House in the 1979-80 term. His father, and Mark's grandfather, was the late Gov. George T. Mickelson. The speaker of the House in the 1941 session was George T. Mickelson. His son was born Jan. 31 that year. George T. went on to be elected state attorney general in 1942 and 1944, then governor in 1946 and 1948 on the Republican ticket. George S. was elected governor in 1986 and 1990.

(Spell checked)We hated HMO’s in the 1990′s…remember when you had to get permission to go ANYWHERE for ANY medical problem or you would end up with a horrendous bill? That is an HMO…which is another piece of ObamaCare that is pushing Medical homes (such a nice word for such a Orwellian concept to refuse your care) Check out the Pros and Cons of HMO’s:
“The long-term benefits of health maintenance organizations are the subject of much debate. Proponents point out that HMOs offer low-cost healthcare to people who otherwise might be without health insurance. Critics argue that because restrictions are placed on treatments and doctors are encouraged to avoid referring patients whenever possible, the result is that many serious illnesses and medical conditions go untreated.”
The Executive Departments write these stupid bills all year long and HATE it when a legislator (the co-EQUAL part of the government) tries to stop this idiocy When I brought just a resolution saying that SD wanted to keep their choice of doctors…wanted to keep control of their genetics…wanted to have the doctor and patient decide the treatment…and wanted freedom from the individual and employer mandate… Pullman Rogers shrieked “I AM OFFENDED…WE WORKED SO HARD ON THIS BS (BS…my term)
