Legislature should wrap up tonight

Egos were set aside and the Legislature’s ship of state returned to a steady course this afternoon, as the joint committee on appropriations finished piecing together the 2013 budget for state government. The Senate will take up the bill at about 8 p.m. with the House to follow immediately after tonight. The House panel left unobligated about $4.1 million of the estimated revenues, while the Senate side wanted to split those last millions between public schools and Medicaid providers. The budget bill is the final piece of significant unfinished business to complete. An additional day of work now doesn’t appear necessary Saturday.

Just wanted to thank you for your legislative coverage this year, Bob.

Your blog was heads and tails above the rest. Fair and balanced (usually :) current, and accurate.

It made being a spectator more fun!
